The Navrasa, in the scriptures refer to the nine expressions that humans often show. These are Love (Shringaara), Laughter (Haasya), Kind- heartedness or Compassion (Karuna), Anger (Rudra), Courage (Veera), Fear (Bhayanaka), Disgust (Bheebhatsya), Wonder or Surprise (Adhbhutha), and Peace or Tranquility (Shaantha).
